Unlike pressure washing, softwashing uses low-pressure pumps (softwashing uses about as much pressure as a regular garden hose) and a combination of biodegradable mildewcides, algaecides, and soaps that are custom-blended for your particular need. Softwashing is not only more effective, but it uses less water than power washing too!

Softwashing is the method recommended by most major insurers as well as the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturing Association (ARMA), so it won’t void your warranty!

A. No. Pressure washing will dislodge materials that have been loosened by decomposition and aging, and it can damage roof shingles and tiles.

A. No. Just leave us access to the outdoor spigot, make sure that all doors and windows are tightly closed, and make sure that all pets are secured inside your home.

A. No. Every chemical that we use is 100% biodegradable and we take great care to pre-soak or cover all plants as needed, so you don’t have to worry about plant loss.

A. If your roof is badly stained, especially on the north side and in shaded areas, those “stains” are actually a type of algae (Gloeocapsa magma) that feeds on the limestone filler that is used to add weight to asphalt shingles.

In addition to being an eyesore, the root system of these algae dislodges the granules that protect and give color to your shingles and reduces the lifespan of your roof.

A. Usually. More often than not, you will see results within a few minutes but, if you have actively growing moss, it will take a couple of weeks for the treatment to reach the root system.

A. Depending on environmental conditions and the number of trees in close proximity, your roof should remain free of black stains for 4 to 6 years after the treatment.
